One of the more unique restaurants in Little Rock. They serve a form of German-Czech fusion that is very affordable. The goulash ($10) is delicious and full of flavor-- the quantity is on point too... Plenty of beef and dumplings to soak up the tasty sauce. The Brussels sprouts and cheese spaetzle are perfect accouterments for the meal. Really crisp Brussels, delicious cheese, and both for $7 or less. The servers are friendly, the food is served fast, and if you arrive prior to six, they often have happy hour specials on tap or for appetizers.

I enjoy finding locally sourced and locally owned restaurants when I travel. The Pantry was a fantastic choice with their variety of choices from indulgent to healthy. I had the truffled deviled eggs which were light and creamy and the merite salad with a light EVOO and lemon juice dressing. Portions are generous. Had enough left over for lunch the next day. My server was awesome. Thanks Adam!

This was our first visit and we'll come back. My boyfriend had the rustic bowl (which that evening was more like a French pot roast) - his was excellent. I had a dish that I cannot recall now - but it was a sausage dish over spaetzle with tomatoes, I liked it - but I liked his better. We tried the truffle deviled eggs, they were delicious and ordered the cheesecake (based on the drooling reviews). I liked the cheesecake, but it wasn't the best I've ever had - but it WAS one of the better ones. After living in Birmingham and having access to a restaurant there that had over 240 varieties of cheesecake with over 50 sauces to choose from, it's hard for other places to hold a candle. Our server, Audrey, was very nice & attentive. The sound level was a bit loud, which doesn't really bother me but I suppose if you wanted a whisper soft romantic evening out, this may not be the place. Their kitchens stays open till midnight (though I'd call & confirm on an off night) - which is great for those late evening dinners when most places have closed. I look forward to eating her again and trying other items on their menu. I stayed at 3 stars for now, since we've only eaten here once and I cannot speak for much of the menu.

Came in for a quick lunch and I really enjoyed the experience. Our server (Rosie) was quick and helpful, but not too overbearing. It's hard to talk up a turkey sandwich, but the one I had was really great. The egg on top was a really nice touch. Spinach soup was good too. There's a front patio but it was too hot outside to use. My one complaint is that the parking lot is a bit tight, but I guess that comes with success!

I don't know why it's taken me this long to review this place, but here I go. I pretty much love The Pantry. I'm not a big fan of German/eastern European food, but, man, The Pantry had almost made me a believer. I only docked the last star because I think it's a little overpriced -- especially in the alcohol department.

I've been here several times and love everything about it! -great beer selection -great menu - great staff But tonight, I tried the cheesecake, which I've avoided because I thought it was just another cheesecake. But this was so good, it made me angry at every other cheesecake I've had in my life! Seriously, try the cheesecake!

Amazing jäger schnitzel!! Brussels sprouts app was great too!! Not to mention lost Forty beer on draft!! Delish. We will definitely be back. Chocolate salami was amazing as well!!!

Really enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant. Fairly small place but broken into several different rooms including a patio. Our waitress Kelly was very friendly and took time to explain the menu and her personal favorites. My husband and I tried the deviled eggs. They were very cute on presentation, but the flavor seemed a little off. I tried the lasagna, which came crazy hot straight from the oven. It had a sweet sauce and homemade noodles. My husband tried the pork shoulder. It was a large portion...and he devoured it all. Great experience over all! Would definitely go back again!

A wonderful experience each time we visit. The traditional dishes are both exciting and comforting. Order the Pantry Board as an appetizer for two to four, or just get the deviled eggs or the Brussels sprouts for yourself. Relaxed, casual, maybe a little boisterous, but nonetheless intimate. Knowledgeable, friendly waitstaff.

What a great place. The food is amazing and the service is spot on. Even the owner makes visits to the table every meal. Don't let the strange name on some of the dishes scare you off, everything is the best thing you have ever eaten.

Yep- still very, very good! I had the Rustic Bowl this time - which is the Chef's special. And it did not disappoint. AND - I indulged in the cheesecake! WOW! I am a believer that a dessert has to be worth it's calories.... I will run 2 miles EXTRA just to have another slice of that cheesecake. It has a brûlée top.... For those of you playing along - it's ridiculously amazing! Do NOT leave here without a bite or two or TEN of this amazing substance.

Best dining experience I have had in years! The food was amazing. The service was friendly, quick, and best of all, patient! Start at the start: parking is terrible. For such a busy place there is very limited space for vehicles. There ends my complaints. The hostess was very friendly but at 7pm we did not expect to be seated for a while. Plot twist: We were seated immediately. Wait staff had water on the table before our butts had time the warm the seats. The patience he showed when a few of my dining partners complained about the lack of Sweet Tea was very impressive. He knew the menu and was able to make pretty solid suggestions based on the questions we asked. Meal: Deviled eggs were a bit of a disappointment. This was mostly due to the portion size. Spaetzel (sp?) was thick and cheesy. Very very good. Again though the portion size was pretty small. Good for two people. Any more than that and you should get more. Jaeger schnitzel was indescribably good. I recommend getting the mashed potatoes subbed. The mushroom sauce was rich, thick, and loaded with mushrooms that had just the right amount of snap. Nutella creme brule was a bit of an issue for me. Creme brule is a custard. If this were a Nutella flavored custard that would have been okay but this seemed more like Nutella cheesecake smooshed in a bowl. That said it was very good. Throw a couple fingers of McCallan with a couple cubes of ice and you have a great pair. I'm only here for 5 days but I am planning on hitting this place at least twice more before I leave. Simply incredible. It was very inexpensive for what we had. $45 with tip.

Nice place. I will recommend to folks that dress is a little over casual...which I wasn't aware of until I walked into the joint and was a little embarrassed about wearing my nikes and worn out hat. We were seated quickly which really came to a surprise to me. Their drink menu was very nice and they had plenty of options. We had the cheese spaetzel(sp?) for an appetizer and it was very good. As the waitress described it, it's like a grown ups Mac-n-cheese. I had the lasagna and the old lady had the chicken pesto flatbread. Both were very good and we were both satisfied with our experience. Would go back again if in the area.

I'd give the Pantry 4.5 out of 5 stars. Overall, we were really, really happy with our meal! Appetizer we got the cheese spaetzle and it was AMAZING (!) but quite small for sharing. The wine menu was fairly priced and affordable. Our entrees were good- my mom got the brautwerst which she raved about all night with how delicious it was. I got the salmon dish and liked it but didn't love it. Dessert, we couldn't decide and got both the apple strudel and the cheesecake. Let me say just this, if you come for only 1 item, GET THE CHEESECAKE!!!! SOO GOOD!!!! I found the decor to be a little lackluster and bipolar given the strong german inspired menu. Overall, big fan and would definitely recommend to both locals and those passing through (like we were).

One of our favorite spots in town. The food has always been delicious. We have been happy with the wine selection to pair with dinner. Cocktails with friends are great in the cosy lounge.

I don't make a habit of licking my dessert plates, I really don't . They say admitting you have a problem is the first step. But that Tiramisu... I'm working in Little Rock this week and checking out some local recommendations. I have little experience with German food. There aren't too many places near where I live. I asked my server, Seth, for some recommendations, and he explained all the entrees, including ingredients. After reading the reviews, I tried the bacon-wrapped dates. I normally love dates. Now I REALLY love them. They showed up in a paper-lines ramekin to soak up the grease from the bacon. Wait until they cool a bit to eat them as the flavors of the bacon and dates just pops. They should package these things in bags so you can eat them like chips. I decided to try something different, the Svickova. Seth explained this dish, a house specialty - slow-roasted roast beef, thick mushroom gravy, bread dumplings, and stewed cranberries, was similar to our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. In Hungary, this is an expensive dish to prepare and is used as a celebration dish. The Svickova was very tasty. The roast beef was fork-tender, and combined with the savory gravy and tangy cranberries, brought me back to November. This is something I would order again. And again. And that Tiramisu...

This is where I get my German fix. I love the food here. Parking is a nightmare but the food is worth it. I have had the specialist trips in and not been disappointed. The creme brûlée is also naughty. Love the menu selections. Great food and service is always a winning combination.

Atmosphere and decor of the place was pretty neat. We ordered the Pantry Board as the appetizer and that was pretty yummy. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel and to be honest, it tasted like it was something out of a school cafeteria. Service was okay...our waiter forgot to put in our order so we were there just sitting around.

My wife and I came to the pantry for my brithday, and it was a wonderful experience. We're both big fans of small plates, and even though the Pantry isn't a "small plates" restaurant, their selection of appetizers and their charcuterie enabled us to snack through a wide variety of bites, just the way we like. IF YOU COME HERE, AND YOU LIKE TRUFFLES, YOU MUST TRY THEIR TRUFFLED DEVILED EGGS. They are a taste explosion. My wife tried these and discovered that she wasn't fond of truffles, which was fine by me because I love them! I could have eaten four orders of these. The cheese spaetzle was great, if you're a fan of grown-up mac and cheese. Bacon and plenty of cheese, what's not to like? The charcuterie had a few items on it that were a bit "challenging". Some of it just isnt for beginners. Neither my wife nor I liked the chicken liver pate, but that probably just means we aren't fond of chicken liver. I'm sure anyone who is would love it, but we found it too chemical-tasting. The rest of the charcuterie was great, especially the roasted turkey and house-made bratwurst. I loved the terrine, though my wife didn't, and we both devoured the pork sausage. The hummus was ordinary, but not bad. Pita chips tasted a bit stale to me, but not bad. We finished with bacon-wrapped dates, and honestly, they came pretty close to stealing the show. It was a great little "dessert" to top things off. The cocktails were great, and the beer selection is impressive considering the bar is smaller than most closets. The service was perfect, even though they got pretty busy. It seems like a well run and managed restaurant, and the food is superb!

My husband and I live closeby, and while we've only visited one time, we announced that it should be "our spot". The food is superb and I'm glad to say that they offer a great gluten free menu. I was able to order salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and it was delicious. Anything truffle here is top notch. In the past I've also ordered the Jager Schnitzel and been thoroughly fulfilled. High recommendations for a romantic dinner. The ambiance is so comforting, and romantic at the same time. If you are a fan of German entree you will not be disappointed.

We are from west Texas on a road trip and wanted to try different places that we don't have. Bacon wrapped dates were good. I had the Grilled House Made Bratwurst with Roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, mustard. Very delicious. Highly recommended. Husband had the Jäger Schnitzel with spaetzel. It was ok. He liked mine better! And of course the cheesecake was spot on! Overall good place.

We made our latest visit to The Pantry for lunch on December 15, 2014. This restaurant is, without a doubt, one of the best in Arkansas. First, the service is consistent and impeccable. One mark of an excellent restaurant is a highly-trained staff. Our server, Adam, was extremely knowledgeable about the intricacies of all menu items, including the beer and mixed drinks. He was friendly, extremely competent, and very helpful. I think it is not possible to stump Adam! Second, the food is nothing short of outstanding. We began with a family style house salad. The spring mix was good, and the competing accents provided by the salty olives and the sweet cherry tomato halves were well-received. The citrus vinaigrette dressing completed one of the best salads we've enjoyed in quite some time. Both of us ordered the Jager Schnitzel for our entrees. I chose a breaded pork cutlet, and my partner ordered a pan-seared cutlet. Both were covered with a fantastic hunter sauce and what appeared to be homemade spaetzle. The flavor profile of both entrees was complex and delectable. The old Hot Springs Brau Haus used to serve a wonderful Jager Schnitzel, but sadly, its quality took a horrible nose dive when the restaurant changed ownership and became the Steinhaus Keller. It's comforting to know that a superb, habit-forming Jager Schnitzel can still be had in Central Arkansas. Actually, we've never had an entree from The Pantry that did not exceed our expectations, and those expectations have become quite high for this venerable establishment. I might mention, too, that The Pantry's bar is well-stocked. The beer selection (particularly important to me) is quite good, and the wine list is more than adequate. Also, they have a seasonal mixed drink menu that provides a very tasty complement to the menu offerings. We give this restaurant five stars only because Yelp lacks the functionality to give more. It's fortunate that we do not live in Little Rock because if we did, we likely would go broke from dining out too much. We recommend The Pantry without any hint of reservation.

I went here for dinner with 2 of my colleagues. The hostesses are really warm and welcoming, which I have learned, is a typical Southern thing. We were quickly seated. We all ordered 1 beer each which was delivered to us fairly quickly. For appetizers, we ordered the bacon wrapped dates, the buffalo shrimp and the hummus with pita chips. I thought the bacon wrapped dates were pretty good. The shrimp, however, were not crispy at all.. they were a bit soggy, in fact. The hummus and pita chips were also not great - I was a bit disappointed in them. For our main course, I got the Goat Cheese Flatbread, while my colleagues got the Fish & Chips and the Schnitzel. My entree was again, just about average. I tried the Fish & Chips and I thought it was DELICIOUS. The Schnitzel-eater also proclaimed that his dish was tasty. Overall, this is a decent restaurant. Not too much above average, but worth a try. I will likely return for another try!

Our group stopped here while traveling back from New Orleans. The service was a breath of fresh air after having been in New Orleans for a week! Our waitress Audrey was great and we felt like she gave us an honest opinion about any of the dishes that we asked about. We had the brussel sprouts for an app and they were amazing, but maybe a little over-priced for the quantity. Everyone loved their entrees but the hit of the night was definitely the cheesecake. My wife loves a good cheesecake and she gave this one a definite thumbs-up! Good variety on the menu and very well prepared.

First visit and not the last! Great service, a wonderful waitress who told the manager it was our first visit so he could come by and speak to us. The schnitzel was great, spaetzle was just right. Chocolate salami to finish it off, perfect!

Cool atmosphere. Tables are kinda close together which could be an issue depending on how loud The table next to you is. Good thing for us were always the loud table. The food was very good for the price. The menu has a lot of options, and different options especially what you find in Little Rock.

So glad we chose The Pantry for one of our meals during our weekend in Little Rock. The service was incredible and the menu was so intriguing . We wanted to try everything so we got the Pantry Board. Plenty of food for two , then we had the cheesecake - I see why they are known for it . Delicious! We sat on the patio and the experience was delightful !

$2 pints of their pilsner during happy hour! The bacon wrapped dates are amazing. Nice combo of a salty then sweet. We got the jäger schnitzel, bean soup, Hungarian sausage, bratwurst, and the bacon wrapped dates. Delicious !!! And our server Adam was very attentive and knowledgable

Delicious! The bacon wrapped dates are a must appetizer. I had the Rustic Bowl of salmon with mushrooms and quinoa. My husband had the Wiener schnitzel. Both were wonderful! This was a nice surprise that I found on Yelp.

Truffle deviled eggs: good flavor. Not the best deviled eggs I've had, but the Parmesan crisp was a nice touch. Medito salad: nice flavor combinations, but I wish there was a tad more lemon flavor Cheesecake: possibly the best cheesecake I've ever had!! The creme brûlée topping is so special, and the crust is so buttery and tasty. I took my meal to go, but the decor seemed warm and relatively laid back. Beware, apple maps will take you to the wrong side of the street!!!

This is my favorite restaurant in Little Rock. They are fairly priced and have great food and beer! This restaurant is Czech/German food and it is as traditional as you can get in the state and probably the surrounding region. If you like sausages and kraut, this is something you have to try! They also have the best lasagna you will eat in your life! Things I have tried are the pork shoulder, lansga, and Best burger. My favorite being the latter! The wiener schnitzel is great for people not wanting to get too far out of the comfort zone and the beer of choice is the Austrian. Try and I promise you won't be disappointed and will still have money in your bank account when you leave. I haven't been to the Hillcrest location ( The Pantry Crest) but I have heard they have wine of tap which arietes it immediately. Try and knows you're in fit for an incredible taste experience!

Pretty good. Sorta Mediterranean definitely trendy. I went with a panini and soup of the day. Both were fine, not spectacular but solid. I would like to try it again for dinner when I am willing to eat a bit heartier-the goulash sounds great. I've heard parking is the issue and it was apparent at lunch so dinner must be a zoo.

Short version: Excellent. Incredible, hearty meal on a cold night. Definitely worth trying. Full version: had dinner here with 3 others, so we tried a lot of things. Had bratwurst and Hungarian sausages as appetizer with a plate of "pommes frites." The bratwurst and kraut were mild but very good; the Hungarian sausage was excellent. The French fires were awesome; tasted a lot like McDonalds but more homemade. I had the pork shoulder as an entrée and my wife had the roasted chicken. The pork was served with red cabbage and potato cakes. It was an incredible, hearty meal that was perfect for the cold, rainy evening. I finished off the roasted chicken my wife had left; it was also incredible. It had a very rich flavor - almost like sausage. For dessert I had cheesecake and my wife had apple strudel. The strudel was good, but we both agreed that the cheesecake was by far the best. All in all, one of my favorite meals of 2014. Other notes - they have a nice beer list that includes European imports and domestic microbrews. Also, the service we received from our waiter was great.

I live in Frisco, TX but I was completely surprised when a client took me to this place. I absolutely love Czech and Hungarian food, wines and beers and this place seems to have a little of everything! The owner came by and personally thanked us for visiting which I can truly appreciate. I hope the Pantry is around for many years to come!!

This place is good for sure...if you are looking for a culinary treat check it... Very strong 4 star! I had to travel to Little Rock, so I was reviewing restaurants on Yelp and this place caught my eye. I am glad it did! I guess to start they have an extensive list of "Great" beers...draft, bottles, large format bottles...etc! I had a Chimay, Blue, Belgium and a Pilsner Urquell, Pilsner, Czech Republic (first pilsner beer in the world) and both of course are great! Also this place may have one of the best bartenders ever...He is a true chemist that is mastered in the art of mixology. They have seasonal drinks and I luckily was able to enjoy a Charred- Tail (Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Muddled Anaheim Pepper & Fresh Pineapple, and Orange Bitters). For Starters we had: *Truffled Deviled Eggs- I know I may get shot...but I just didn't get it. I did not like these...maybe because it's just not what I am used to but I don't know. The stuffing was so whipped it was like whip cream and the truffle oil added nothing *Local Bio Mushrooms- Mushrooms sautéed with sage, shallots, white balsamic, toast...delicious *The Pantry's Carving Board- combination of pork belly, smoked turkey, bratwurst, feta, goat cheese, terrine with asparagus, and liver pate ....a must! Entrees at the table included: (All were awesome!) Next time I will order the Rustic Bowl (Daily Special) *Lasagna Al Forno....this was awesome! *Wiener Schnitzel with iron skillet potatoes....prepared perfectly! *The Pantry Burger....This was so good with homemade mayo *Street Fair- Hungarian sausage, Bratwurst, Homemade Sauerkraut, Vegetable Lesco, and spicy mustard Desert: OK Regardless of everything else....GET THIS! Cheesecake...house made with graham cracker crust and a brûlée Overall a great establishment! Also they seem to have a fantastic bar and the kitchen is open until midnight!

Good luck getting parking. If you can't find any park across the road in the bank parking lot. Great range of food. Try bacon wrapped dated and truffled eggs. They serve mostly German food so expect a selection ad dense hearty entree's for the most part. It's likely my favorite spot in west Little Rock.

    (5)
  • Dana W.

My husband and I had a late dinner at the Pantry quite a while ago and I just realized I did not write a review. The food was very good. We had the truffled deviled egg appetizer. This was only fair. I love truffles and deviled eggs, but I was not a big fan of them together. I would agree with the other reviewers about the parking. It is horrible and the spaces are tight. I was fearful of having my SUV dinged while dining. (It didn't happen, but it was a concern).

probably the best overall restaurant in LR. one of our regular stops. it is almost always busy and parking kind of sucks, but it is worth it. i'm pretty sure they could double the prices on a lot of menu items without losing any sales. highlights: lasagna (it is a legit pasticchio with a bechamel sauce). the board: just get it. do it. now.

I was out helping my sister checking out some rental homes and was in the area so we decided to give this place a try. We came here for lunch and this place was dead, which is surprisingly to me since everyone told me how much they loved this place. Their lunch menu did not really appeal to me. I ordered the Truffled Deviled Eggs, Pommes Frites, the Big Cheese Panini with a side salad. The truffle deviled eggs did not live up to the hype. The Pomme Frities are french fries served with garlic mayo & spiced ketchup. The spiced ketchup to me tasted like curry and ketchup mixed together. It was not spicy and tasted weird at first but then I started to like it. I enjoyed the Big Cheese Panini which essentially is a grill cheese sandwich. The salad was like any other salad but I really liked the lemon dressing. Will definitely return to try their dinner menu.

Ok. This is my second visit. Awesome! Had the Nuremburger. The patty was perfectly spiced and the homemade mustard was phenomenal. The ladies bathroom was nice. Great place...eat here. I paid about 8 bucks forbthe patty and it was filling. Comes with homemade chips.

I are here a few weeks back and had considered not doing a review, but I went here because of the sheer number of positive reviews and I felt like a counterpoint was needed. There were positives and negatives. On the plus side the appetizers were excellent (though I didn't care for the truffled deviled eggs, they were well done but the truffle flavor was unwelcome in that dish). The wine list was good, as was the "high end" beer list. The place was nice and clean and the waitstaff was very good. We had help getting recommendations for those not terribly familiar with German/Bavarian style food. On the not so good list. I had the Hungarian sausage. I live in Milwaukee and sausage is to us a religion. To me it's the lifeblood of German and Bavarian cuisine. I would liken it ring bologna. The consistency of the meat was very fine, it was under spiced and honestly was just VERY disappointing after the great appetizers. The dumplings were fine as was the sauce, but the sausage was extremely disappointing. I would still recommend this restaurant, but steer clear of the Hungarian sausage.

Last night was my first time eating at this restaurant. I was really impressed. Food: My fiance and I split our meals. We shared the bacon wrapped dates, and truffle devil eggs as an appetizer. Both were delicious. My fiance does not like deviled eggs, but took a chance and thought they were excellent. We shared the Nuremberger and Svickova(roast beef with potato dumplings and vegetable sauce). The Nuremberger was delicious. It took me a couple bites to truly appreciate it. The Svichova was the overall winner of the night. The flavors were so different and good that I have no idea how to describe them. We finished with the Nutella Creme Brulee. This was amazing. Order it. I don't normally order dessert because they aren't worth the price, but I will be ordering this every time I go back. Ambiance: Casual/Semi-formal. Appropriate to dress up of wear semi-casual attire. The owner also came out, checked on us, and personally thanked us for patronizing his restaurant. It stood out. Service: Our server was Seth. He was excellent. he was prompt, non-invasive, and knew the menu very well. Overall I am glad I took the chance on a different cuisine. We will be back.

Food was good, ambiance was great and service was fast. We had their soup for the day mushroom/onion soup, it was good but portion was not that much. VThe caesar salad was really good, the dressing was home made. I really liked The flat bread goat cheese with goat cheese and caramelized onions. I don't know if they make their own bread but it was good. We ordered the rustic bowl that came in with a pan seared salmon and vegetables, it was okay..I just didn't like that I can taste the oil that was used..its like the oil was used before. We also got the roast pork, it was okay, my son liked it. The serving was generous on the pork. It went well with the red cabbage. Finally the cheesecake, it was amazing! Its like creme brulee and cheesecake in one. Price was okay for the food, definetely not cheap though..

My husband and I had dinner there for the first time the other night. We started with the buffalo shrimp which were pretty tasty. I had the jäger schnitzel as an entree, hubs had fish and chips. The schnitzel was excellent: tender and covered in sauce and mushrooms while served with spaetzel. Hubs was very pleased with his fish and chips. To finish we had a slice of the cheesecake. It comes with caramelized sugar on top and is wonderful. The service was excellent and attentive and the beer selection was on point. Only drawback is finding parking. Will definitely be eating there again.

I got into Little Rock at 11 pm and this was the only place in the area open that late and was STARVING. I used the Nearby search on Yelp and called down the list! But don't worry you won't be settling at all- the food was delicious!! I got the goat cheese flatbread and it came with a little side salad( I don't remember if the menu said that or not). A great place to eat- day or night!

I've had better meals... but they cost me a week's paycheck. Dollar for dollar, The Pantry is the best restaurant in Little Rock. Unbelievable food, all the time and wonderful people. If you are just passing through LR, check out this local establishment. If you live here and haven't been there yet, shame on you. :)

My most beloved Little Rock dinner spot. When I think of things that I miss most about Little Rock, this is it! Tomas the owner is of Czech decent and the menu reveals his flare for fabulous food. They make their own brats and sausages in house, the Pantry board is a MUST! My hubby and I enjoy making a meal out of the board and enjoying some lovely wine. We practically fell in love with each other on their patio. Get the chocolate salami for dessert! MUST DO in Little Rock!

This restaurant is a great place for both lunch and dinner. I explore new restaurants once a month with friends and recommended to come here - result: all of my friends loved it and wanted go there again. I don't know much about German food, but they have various types of food to meet everyone's need from vegetarian to meat lover. Delicious food, fresh ingredients, generous portion, reasonable price, good atmosphere, and great service. I recommend to people who want to have a good dining experience at a new place. Definitely will go back when I get a chance.

I came in around 1-2pm on a Tuesday in September 2014. I was looking for some local favorites in Little Rock since I was spending the day there to study/run errands. (in Searcy for school, which is an hour away) So I asked the waiter what he recommended. He recommended the Bratwurst. I don't believe the menu online reflects what the restaurant has. I think it changed it a bit from what I recall. I told him I wanted MEAT! I had been on a hardcore veggie/fruit/clean eating for a few weeks and I wanted to celebrate by having a cheat day. So that's what he recommended...not sure if that was the best recommendation, but I was like okay, I'll go for it. I enjoyed my bratwurst fine, but let me warn you, I eat mine PLAIN with just ketchup, no fancy additions. I also said I did want a side of Caesar salad, which was an extra $4 I believe...so not worth it. I mean YES it was a large portion, but I can make my own at home and it would have looked better than that. The lettuce was finely shredded and it was kind of bland. I think everything was about $11 (with a 18% tip), so maybe $9 w/out tip? It was a quick and quiet lunch. I like the décor of the restaurant as well.

Was on a business trip, hotel was near by. What a great place to be rewarded after a long trip. Charcuterie board was amazing! Definitely worth the trip. Cocktail list was pretty good; I always drink a Moscow Mule.

I went here for lunch for the first the other day, and I was pretty impressed. I ordered the goat cheese, mushroom, and caramelized onions flatbread and it was good. I'm not a big fan of pizzas/pizza-like dishes that are smothered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, since they tend to overpower everything else, so this was good alternative for me. The flatbread was thin and crispy and the mushrooms weren't overly cooked or seasoned. The dish itself was plain and straight to the point. I can't wait to go back here and try their other dishes.

Great find in Little Rock! Nice service, really friendly atmosphere. Had the Leah Salad, a new favorite combo I'll make at home, spinach roasted carrots, fennel and pistachios, super delicious. Also had the rustic bowl with potato, cabbage and pork shoulder, it was good not great. Portion size was modest, food was well seasoned, maybe it was just not what I was expecting. However, it was good. Also got Brussels sprouts and they were also delicious. Definitely plan to eat there again.

The Pantry was an excellent experience. We started out with cocktails and apps- I got the gin & ginger with cilantro--and it was great. We had the truffled deviled eggs, charcuterie platter, and salad. The charcuterie and salad were enormous but good, the deviled eggs were amazing. Then for my entry I got the Pantry Pie, a "Hearty Goulash Stew covered in Mashed Potatoes"--totally great and delicious. My dining partners all enjoyed their meals as well. As to the ambiance, it was lovely. Very glad we ate here!

Met some friends here for a late night get together. As my prior experience was lacking, I am happy to note: 1) The Pantry has an expanded menu - with quite a few options I'd like to try. Too bad I'd already had dinner and skipped on the entrees this night. 2) We had great service! Our waiter was friendly with a nice smile, as well as offered plenty of beer recommendations and knowledge. 3) As our friends had spent a fair share of money (and time) at The Pantry, the owner/manager offered a free appetizer sampler- including smoked meats, cheeses, and bread. Very tasty! 4) Two happy hours, including 10-2. Looking forward to going back!

A girlfriend took me here for my birthday last month. It was excellent! We started out with the truffle deviled eggs, I could've easily eaten the entire plate of them - they are very rich. I had a sampler of the different house made sausages, all were excellent and I highly recommend trying them. I don't recall which flatbread my friend ordered, but I remember that it had really yummy goat cheese on it and she thought the entree was great (portion was easily enough for two people). I thought the location had great ambience, although it was a little loud when we were there. The Pantry wouldn't be a place that I would bring children (my 3 year old couldn't handle it), and there really isn't much on the menu that young kids would eat. I plan on going back with my husband in the future, he loves German food and there is a good selection of European dishes on the menu.

Quite simply one of the finest eateries in the state. The service is attentive, yet not overbearing. The drink menu is well-conceived and paired thoughtfully with the food. The food is nothing short of spectacular. Little Rock is so lucky to have The Pantry.

I was in Little Rock on business and a group of co-workers went to dinner at the Pantry. Before I went, I checked out the Yelp reviews to see what people thought about the restaurant. When I arrived I alerted the waitress that I had a Gluten allergy and she provided me with the GF menu. I was surprised of the number of choices I had on the menu that were something other than grilled fish. Five stars I ordered the fish special, mushroom and spinach stuffed trout, which was more than I could eat and it was delicious. My co-workers tried the other german dishes and everyone loved their dish. Four Stars While I do not drink, others did try the various wines and beers featured. They loved the different choices. I would visit the Pantry on my next trip to Little Rock. There were aware of gluten allergy, and made suggestions based that did not make me feel left out the dinner. Five Stars. The only negative about the restaurant was the noise level. You could barely hear the person next to you. Forget about having a conversation with even the person across the table. Two stars This review was written from a GF perspective.

My family of 5 (including 12,14 and 16 yr old kids) stopped in Little Rock for an overnight stay on a road trip from Houston to Illinois. We found The Pantry on Yelp and gave it a try due to its online menu and reviews. This was one of the best meals we have had as a family in quite some time. Our sever, Corina, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our family demolished the spaetzle, deviled eggs, and pomme frite appetizers (the curry ketchup was amazing, something we will try at home). The Wiener schnitzel, bratwurst dinner, stock pot and chicken pesto flatbread were hits. The desserts knocked our socks off. The Apple streusel, Nutella crime brûlée, and cheesecake were to die for. We can't wait to come back to Little Rock (maybe on our way home!) Kudos to the owner and staff, The Pantry is a treasure.

Awesome food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Definitely one of Little Rock's best places to eat. Highlights: Lasagna is amazing, The Board Appetizer is a huge hit and delicious, and I think my new favorite might be the jäger snitzel. For dessert you have to try the Nutella creme brûlée

You know what? I loved this place! Visiting town for business, Yelp reviewers led me to this gem. Great atmosphere, decor and service. My server, Greer, was amazing. She was attentive enough that I never waited for anything but didn't disturb me with the whole, repetitive, "Can I get you anything" thing. I ordered the "Rustic Pot" which changes daily. Mine came highly recommended by Greer and consisted of soft polenta, onions, fresh spinach and sautéed shrimp. This perfectly spiced combination was soooo yummy! Just as I was leaving, the owner stopped by my table to say hello and make sure I was satisfied. Visiting with Tomas was a treat. It is obvious that this restaurant is a labor of love for him and meeting him personally was a delight. If you are looking for something a little different, with flavors you don't encounter every week, The Pantry might be a perfect choice.

Tried the deviled eggs and wiener schnitzel today and they were magnificent. The breading on the schnitzel was perfect as was the meat. Service was excellent. Portions are good for the prices as well.

As a child I had schnitzel and späetzal, didn't know at the time what it was called as I was too young. My grandmother made it and it was comfort food. It wasn't till I traveled to Austria und Germany that I tasted memories from childhood. It's amazing how tastes and smells trigger memories from long ago. In the states I had tried to find this food, and didn't have much luck except for the occasional wurst here and there (anything ground, seasoned, stuffed into a casing, grilled and served with kraut and brown mustard is usually going to be good). I discovered The Pantry several years ago and have enjoyed every meal I've had there (I think it is still in double digits!). I went one time and the Jäger schnitzel was not on the menu (I enjoyed a pork shoulder or one of the other great items) so I enjoyed myself regardless. The owner came out, as he has done many times, and asked if we enjoyed the food, which everyone did, but I did plead for the return of my favorite dish, and thankfully it has been there on several other visits. I had the jäger schnitzel tonight und it was wunderbar! The pate or terrine are my appetizers of choice, but the pommes frites are great. This is a rare find of a restaurant. It can be very busy, but there is a reason people are trying to get in! Most places where you can walk in on a Friday with no one is ahead of you, should give pause to think of why no one is in front of you. There is definitely a reason why many Yelper's write about The Pantry.

We love The Pantry and have since they opened many years ago. Thomas Boehm, the owner, is wonderful and they have a wonderful staff. The food never has disappointed us- it is always excellent! Having the sautéed red snapper with tarragon sauce , and my husband is having our favorite dish - weinerschnitzel.

Enjoyed a great meal. We went during Happy Hour when some of the "nibbles" were $4. Ordered the spaetzle and bio mushrooms with a side of goat cheese (our server suggested the added goat cheese to go with the toast and mushrooms) for appetizers...both were delicious with no complaints. Main course - Wiener Schnitzel and the Stock Pot....schnitzel was good but could have used a sauce of some sort. The plate just seemed a little dry between the schnitzel and potatoes but that being said, the pork was tender and the potatoes that came on the side were super tasty. Stock Pot was very light, fresh and flavorful. Dessert- Nutella creme brûlée and brûléed cheesecake. Creme brûlée was delicious anf the cheesecake was AMAZING! By far one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Got a latte that tasted great. We were very pleased and are excited to go back and try some new things. Our server was great too. Overall pleasant experience.

Was visiting LIttle Rock, AR on a weekend trip with some friends and we wanted to try something local. So we 'Yelped' this little gem with fantastic reviews. THANK YOU YELPERS! you did not fail us! This eatery has a German based cuisine and menu, and having never really tried German food before, i thought the food was fresh, and fantastic! We got there right before 10pm, the reverse happy hour had justed started. For $4 HH appetizers & $3 well drinks, we got the pate with bread slices and hot mustard, and the truffled deviled eggs. Both delicious and good sized portions for HH prices. For the main course, we got the Jager Schnitzel, which is pork slices simmered in mushroom brown gravy. I think the gravy made this dish, with out the gravy the meat was a bit hard to chew. We also got the Roasted Pork Shoulder, which came with braised red cabbage (very tender with a bit of tang), and also taters and "dumplings"... the so called dumplings were the size of baseballs cut in half, 3 to a plate. Very weird, but maybe its a German thing? *shurgs*, besides not liking the ginormous dumplings, I'd say this dish was delicious too! Over all i gave this place 5 stars because: -Good reverse happy hour prices -HH drink prices were only $3 each -Food is interesting and delicious -wait staff was quick and efficient - lovely ambiance & decor - warm & inviting colors

This is one of the very best restaurants in Little Rock. Consistently great food with very good service in a comfortable, nice-yet-casual setting. What more can you ask for? The menu is unique for this area, which is a plus, but it is also a very flavorful, well-prepared take on Eastern European cuisine. Prices are a bargain for what you get. I've never had anything other than a great experience here and look forward to their Hillcrest outpost.

This is one of the few restaurants in town that has great food and service. The great service was from Rachel, whose knowledge of the menu led us to choose a meal of appetizers. The food was fantastic and elegantly presented. The bacon wrapped dates and truffled deviled eggs were delightful. The only downside is the space. It's beautiful, but very loud.

This was our first time at The Pantry. My wife and I had the home made brat plate and it was wonderful! Our daughter had the pork shoulder and I hate to say it but it was not very good. The taste was bland at best. However, the manager did an outstanding job of dealing with the complaint as well as our server (I can't remember his name). This was a perfect example of how a business deals with a complaint in such a great manner that they were able to turn the situation around. Great job guys we were truly impressed with how you dealt with our complaint. The cheesecake was to die for! I would by all means go back. I am giving them 5 stars for the excellent job they did with addressing our concern. You rarely can find anymore restaurants that care and go above and beyond to fix problem.

Nice but not stellar. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, a cheese plate, coq av vin, & a couple of drinks. Also an unremarkable cheese plate. The dishes were as described--nothing really spectacular. They offer dishes, however, that you can't find elsewhere in Little Rock. I had one drink with absinthe & marmalade that was nice & had a great presentation. Another that had thyme infused syrup, however, reminded me of raw chicken & I had to send it back. The waiter was very attentive until it was time for the check, which took a while.

The Pantry is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock. I have been several times and have tasted a good portion of the menu. Some of my favorite foods that I keep coming back to are (of course!) the truffled devil eggs, the buffalo shrimp, the pork shoulder, the brats and pretty often the rustic bowl (daily/weekly special). The salmon and quinoa is delicious and cooked perfectly. The only item I've had that I am not in love with is the apple strudel, but I do not prefer cold desserts. I saw a few complaints about the price, but I think the quality for the price can't be beat. The service is excellent, the beer/cocktail selection is good and the owner is very friendly. If you're in the area, check it out!

My wife and I have lived less than a mile from The Pantry for five years and had never been before last month. It's on a side street off of Rodney Parham and sort of hidden. I got a gift certificate from the parent of one of my soccer players this spring, and we decided to put it to good use by going for dinner one Friday night. We got there early without a reservation (about 5:45) and were seated immediately. It was a good thing, because by the time we left, the place was packed. Great beer and wine selection, and the menu is unusual (for the south) but varied enough that you can find something you'll like. The food was great, and the service was prompt, friendly, and funny. For us, the atmosphere was just right - active but not overly noisy. There was a table of eight next to us, and my wife kept looking over at their orders and saying,"That looks good!" (Too bad there's not a restaurant where you can order an entree sampler - a couple of bites of everything.) Some reviewers have complained about the cost, but both of us ate and drank to our satisfaction, and got out for about $65. For me, that's more than reasonable (or, did I mean less?) Will definitely try their lunchtime menu, as well.

We've liked it better for dinner than lunch. The dinner menu just seems a bit more interesting and cooked with a tiny bit more effort. still the food is good for both lunch and dinner. The food is good, the service is good, and the beer/wine list is quite good. czech and german

Went here last night and decided this is definitely one of my favorite places in Little Rock. Get the cheese board and the Hungarian sausage. I love The Pantry! Every time I've gone it's been busy, but I've never had to wait for a table. The fact that they stay open late is a huge plus, and everything I've tried there so far has been really good. I love the sauerkraut and mustard they have with their brats.

The Pantry as a stand-alone Czech-German based restaurant is just ok. Were it in a bigger city where it had more competition with this style of cuisine, it wouldn't survive long. In Little Rock, it's obvious that it thrives due to a menu that can't be matched in the surrounding area in terms of breadth of items. I mean where else can you get lasagne, fried cheese, and knedliky (Czech dumplings) all from the same place? My wife and I went here on a date, and we shared the devilled eggs, which were excellent, a good mix of garlic, mayo, and truffle oil, and whipped to the point where you couldn't tell it was egg yolk that you were eating. I ordered from the "nibbles" menu, the appetizers, and coupled a plate of fries with fried gouda cheese. Fried cheese is a classic Czech dish (although they don't normally use gouda), so I was eager to see how it measured up. It was delicious, although the tartar sauce they served it with, while homemade, was not indicative of the tartar sauce this is classically served with in Czech. The cheese itself was delicious, however, and I enjoyed it. My wife had the Svickova (Czech dumplings with meat and cranberries). Dumplings with gravy and meat is the national Czech dish, so I was expecting that, being the only true Czech menu item (as a full meal), it would be probably the best. It wasn't. The gravy was close to perfect, but the meat was extremely dry, as were the dumplings. Likewise, this dish was over 13 dollars, and there were only 3 dumplings on the plate, and even less meat. Honestly, it was not enough food for my wife, who was very hungry. It was certainly not worth 13 bucks, the novelty of the food notwithstanding. This is especially true because the dumplings are made of bread; in other words, they were one of the cheapest things on our table all night. Overall, the experience was good but not amazing because I've had the real thing. For Americans who have never been to Europe, especially the Czech Republic, you will have the opportunity to enjoy new flavors that you may never find elsewhere. For those who are more well-traveled, the food is unimpressive, especially for the price. I would recommend The Pantry as a very special occasion location only, because it's really too expensive for the amount of food that you get there. Again, the novelty notwithstanding.

A great diverse selection of food compared to other restaurants in Little Rock. I've been here for dinner twice and drinks once, and both experiences were wonderful. They even brought me an incredible piece of cheesecake on the house for my birthday. The beer selection is not that great, BUT they serve in the appropriate glass for each beer...an important aspect since the beer isn't cheap. The food is also incredible, but some things are way to powerful, where some things aren't...the sourkraut was pretty flavorless, and the truffled deviled eggs had WAY too much flavor. The meat platter is a good choice for some drinks or a small meal split between 2-3. Eat outside if it's nice!

Okay y'all. I was pleased with The Pantry the first few times I went. However, as I've returned multiple times my thoughts on this restaurant have changed. I still believe it is an excellent choice for lunch, but I don't think I will ever return for supper. First of all, with a reasonably high price tag for dinner I firmly believe that The Pantry (and any other similar restaurant for that matter) should properly train its waitstaff. That being said, we had a nice but obviously new waiter who was painfully awkward and so busy that we rarely saw him. I had to flag him down over an hour in to place an order for our entrees. The noise was also distracting. If you have a problem hearing it's going to be difficult for you to eat here. Furthermore, my dinner companion and I were discussing the lighting. It's very dim and while I commented that I liked it, she pointed out that you could hardly make out the components of the plates when they arrived because of the lack of light. Good point. In sum, the atmosphere is pleasant for some but overall a hit or miss kind of situation. The bar area appeared to be much quieter and significantly brighter. If noise and light are problematic for you, request to be seated there. But the real issue for me is the food. I have had a few delicious things here but after a half dozen dinner services, I have decided that the food is not good enough for me to return. In my previous review, I commented that some of the entrees tasted the same. This is still my belief; many of the dishes taste the same. While nothing is 'bad' the dishes aren't stellar. The lasagna consistently lacks seasoning, the rustic bowl is usually underwhelming and under seasoned, the fries are still soggy on the fish and chips, and things are just generally mediocre. We ordered the Buffalo shrimp appetizer for kicks. There was so much breading around the shrimp that they actually looked like small chicken bites. They either weren't fried long enough or the oil wasn't hot enough so the breading was quite soggy, aside from being heavy, before they poured Buffalo sauce onto them. Overall, while they didn't taste bad, they simply weren't executed properly. So, I'm not a chef and I don't pretend to be one. However, I love to cook, eat, and learn about food which has given me some knowledge on which to base my reviews. The Pantry has great potential but the food is consistently mediocre. There is a lack of seasoning across the board and the execution on many of the dishes is sub-par. With high-ish prices (expect to get close to $100 for 2 if you're drinking and having appetizers) I expect, and want, a lot more. I'm surprised at how many 5 star reviews The Pantry has received because, honestly, I can cook better.

I was here in the summer and heat was a scorcher. It was great to put down the heat in this nice German Resturant. The food was excellent and the beer was great to put down the heat. Loved everything here the brats were excellent and all the sides were great.. Don't miss this place if you have a taste for good German cuisine. I have been to German spent 2years there and this food definitly took me back.

Oh where to begin... This great restaurant is somewhat out of the way, with signage that's less than revealing about what kind of food they serve, but upon entering, you're quickly surprised as the decor and atmosphere of the place. It has a very rustic feel to it, with warm color tones and wood accents, a bit like walking into a tavern. Upon being seated, we ordered the cheese Spaetzle as an appetizer, with Weiner Schnitzel and Bratwurst as the main entrees. The spaetzle was really quite good, almost like mac and cheese, and the Edam was the perfect consistency. I greatly enjoyed the caramelized onions, and I feel like whenever I eat mac and cheese, I'll look for those perfectly cooked onions. I could definitely return just for those! Weiner Schnitzel was really good, as well, basically a breaded and fried piece of pork, that was not at all dry or tough, as often happens to pork, but was rather moist and tender, and the lemon added just the right amount of sour. The potatos that came with it were great, as well. The bratwurst, I believe, was made in-house, and it was served with the most delicious horseradishy mustard I've ever had, and I was very tempted to buy a whole bottle to take home, if they sold them. Too shy to do so, though. Sauerkraut was perfect, with the right texture, and just the right amount of tart. We finished with a chocolate salami, with layers of ice cream. This was excellent, as well, and I'd never heard of chocolate salami before, but now I want to make it at home! Can't complain about the service at all, and the owner himself came out once to greet us and welcome us to the restaurant! A great personal touch that makes you feel right at home. All in all, one of the better restaurants I've ever been to in the Little Rock area, and definitely the best German-European place I know, anywhere. Check it out!

The Pantry just recently opened in the old Allouette's location. The space has been completely renovated and has a rustic,Morrocan feel to it. The bar area is a great hang-out spot for meeting friends. There is covered and uncovered outdoor seating in the restaurant as well. The menu includes Czech and German dishes and a great selection of bistro-type fare. Everything I have tried was excellent. Definitely something for every person and every appetite. High quality, diverse selection of beers on tap and by the bottle. At least 15 wines available by the glass or bottle within a very reasonable price range. This is a place I will be visiting often! Great for dinner or just meeting friends for drinks. I was told they will soon be selling pre-packaged dinners to go with a set menu for each day. Currently, they are open for dinner from 4pm 'til ?

We ate here for lunch on our way back from Memphis to Dallas. My girlfriend and I had the schnitzel with potatoes. It was very good. Her daughter had the fish and frites. She said it was very good. We had the Hobgoblin beer from a brewery in the UK. That was good too.

I have been coming to the Pantry Restaurant since it opened, as I knew it had a Central European food theme, with a Czech owner, and I have lived in Prague and traveled in that area, so I was excited for a taste of that delicious food again. I have never been disappointed with a visit there, and I have gone for romantic dinners, family birthday gatherings, girls' nights, cocktails and appetizers with my husband or a friend or even to pick up dinner to take home. The service is always friendly and attentive, the prices are great for the food we eat, the food is delicious and imaginative, the ambience is lovely, intimate and appealing and the owner and all the staff are very energetic about providing us with a great experience, whatever the reason we are there, no matter how large our party. The outdoor patio area feels just as intimate as the interior, which is difficult to do. When the weather is pleasant, we love to sit out there. My favorite appetizer is the truffled deviled eggs. These are so amazingly delicious; they are like "egg candy." I almost always order them to share (or to have all to myself!). My husband absolutely loves the potato pancakes, though last time he ordered them, he thought they were too peppery. I used to get the pate in the little jar, which was a hit with me. The new pate, which includes meat, almonds and asparagus wrapped in bacon is good, too, but I preferred the former iteration. I've also had the cheese spaetzle is a great version of macaroni and cheese and serves me as a meal when I order it. From the salads they offer, I've had the caprese and I've had friends rave over the deliciousness of the prosciutto and watermelon salad. They are healthy servings, but not ridiculous, and always are fresh and flavorful. For entrees, I usually go for the goat cheese flatbread, which comes with a small, lovely green salad in the middle, but I've also had the burger and the schnitzel. I don't recommend the schnitzel because they don't use veal, but rather pork, and that's just not what I think of when I have a taste for this dish, but the flatbread and the burger were perfect. For my birthday last year, Tomas, the owner, made fried cheese and French fries for me off the menu because it was one of my favorite dishes in the Czech Republic, and it was perfection! (That is the friendly kind of neighborhood feeling this restaurant offers!) My husband almost always gets the pantry pie, which is goulash with mashed potatoes baked on top. HE LOVES IT! if I want to go to the Pantry, all I have to do is mention that or the truffled deviled eggs, and he instantly agrees! I also know that the daily special, or "rustic bowl" is reliably delicious, so always ask about that. As far as dessert goes, I almost always get the apple strudel, and it tastes so much like the strudel my friend made for me in Prague, that I can only say that it is perfect! The cocktails and wine here are wonderful, and they offer a varying selection of beers, including great Czech choices. The wait staff are always knowledgeable about the wines. Yesterday, I ordered a cosmopolitan, and the waitress brought it to me and said because they had used well vodka, it was a happy hour special (they have GREAT deals for happy hour, by the way!). It's worth it, also, to become a fan of The Pantry on Facebok, because during the week, they tell their FB friends "buzzwords" to use for free dishes etc. for the table if they come in that night. This restaurant is on our very short list of go-to restaurants in Little Rock because we love the friendliness of the people, the loveliness of the decor, the intimacy of the space and the deliciousness of the food.

"Hey - let's all go out for German food!" Ever happen to you? Me either. That's why the eclectically assembled menu at The Pantry actually seems to make some sense. Looking for something Germanic? Cheese spaetzel, wursts, potato pancakes and a small selection of other items can help satisfy that craving. Otherwise, they've got a broad variety of dishes, from a roasted half-chicken to fish and chips. It's the kind of menu that seems to make the most sense to a crowd; everyone can have something they like, "concept" be damned. Nothing German about wines by the glass, though the beer list does feature a decent selection of European brews - though nothing like what you'll find at the Flying Saucer, of course. Several in our group tried interesting specialty cocktails. The champagne cocktail - champagne, cucumber, muddled lime and mint, vodka and a splash of soda, served in a highball glass - got a good review, and resembled a mojito. Another drink featured Earl Gray tea-infused vodka, and had a burnished reddish glow that stood out from a distance, though I didn't get to hear the review on that one. Service was friendly and efficient, with our tables entrees served in an amusing mix of ways -- some salads in 8x8 square pyrex dishes, chicken on an individual size pizza pan, and risotto in one of those little white ceramic footed pots with the little lion heads on the sides. Food reviews around our table were uniformly good, if not stellar. Everything seemed well-prepared, if simply, and the prices are very reasonable. Desserts were uneven. Apple strudel looked good, and was served with yummy ice cream, but lacked flavor. Dough and apples alike were dull and flavorless. Cheesecake sported a brulee topping that added a nice crunch to the traditionally delicious cheesecake underneath. The house specialty - "chocolate salami" - was a bit odd and hard to place. A log of chocolate and, we think, nuts, is sliced into rounds. It's surprisingly light and crunchy, with a flavor and texture that are hard to place. After several rounds of drinks, our table found the salami to be hilarious for some reason. Your experience may vary, of course. Decor is eclectic, with a manufactured bohemian quality; bathrooms (well, the men's is all I saw) clean and amusingly decorated. Check it out for an after-work group. It's different enough to make you think, and tasty enough to satisfy a crowd.

German restaurants usually make me a little nervous...but this one was divine. excellent customer service...the cheese spaetzle were to die for as was the truffled deviled egg. I ordered the goulash with mashed potatoes (but they have a much wittier name for the dish). I had to push the plate away and make them box it up immediately so I could take it home...otherwise, I would have polished it all right off. I have just moved it Little Rock and this will be a place I frequent frequently. Yeah!

One of our favorite places to have a casual dinner. Excellent German/Euro fare and a great selection of beverages mixed to your preference. If you're tired of the same old Tex-Mex or Italian night out, then go here, and you'll be back.

The Pantry is my favorite Little Rock restaurant. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is old world charming, and the food is wonderful. I receive a regular email notification from Tomas the owner highlighting specials, new menu items, and when seasonable favorites are back. My family background is Czech, so it's nice being able to enjoy Czech, and Eastern European Cuisine. Try it. I believe You'll like it.

Our dinner was all right and the service was good, but it was expensive and the whole experience not really special enough to go back for.

the fact that this restaurant gets so many 5 star ratings indicates the sorry state of little rock's restaurant scene. this place wouldnt last a week in nyc/san fran/chicago/dallas etc. the food here is plain, utterly mundane and almost completely absent of creativity. the restaurant is loud but the service is adequate. the 4 of us all ordered stuff recommended by the server and while none of it was send it back bad, none of it was delicious either. portions were fairly large. also, i take issue with this restaurant billing itself as german or eastern european food, it simply isnt. its mostly run of the mill american fare that leans towards pub food. there are a couple eastern euro dishes but they are most definitely not authentic. i had the svickova which was strangely similar to a canned meat product and certainly was not a single cut of roast beef but instead some weird pressed together creation - think those blocks of luncheon meat at your kroger deli. the burger was decent but again utterly average. fish and chips were again pretty mundane and the fries were a collection of 1 inch twigs, must have got the bottom of the bag. seriously folks, little rock restaurants are fairly bad and this one surely doesnt deserve 4.5 stars. people should expect more. this is a 1-3 star restaurant, not a 5 star delight.

There is no place like the Pantry in Little Rock. For one it's about the only place you can get something to eat after 9:00. It's a casual, contemporary bistro with a European attitude; meaning, they are really interested in you enjoying your meal instead of turning tables. I never feel rushed, and it's my choice place for everything from a business dinner to date night to a casual night out with friends. The food is amazing, and the chef uses seasonal ingredients. The seasonal salads are terrific, but I'm always tempted my schnitzel. One of the best burgers in town. My current favorite is the cod. Great wine, beer, and cocktails and absolutely, the best cheesecake ever.

I have recently moved to NYC and out of all the amazing food here, I still miss the Pantry so much! Everything I've ever had there is delicious and well-cooked. Their pork spatezle is my favorite, as well as the pommes frites. Fish and frites and the lasagna are great as well, and my husband gets the red cabbage with Czech dumplings every time. They also have a diverse beer selection. We have always had amazing service and the ambience is great...Highly recommended!

Took the husband there for his birthday and I fell in love with the nibbles. By far the best part of the meal. If they offer the mushroom soup, it is hearty, but has a delicate flavor to the vegetarian broth. He can't wait to go back!

Really good food. Everything I've ever had there: Fall and Spring Pantry salad, Pork Loin in mushroom sauce, their special with almond encrusted fish in broth (I know, I wondered if the crust would get soggy, it didn't). All excellent! Not a dessert eater. Good service. And the best part of all. They serve until midnight. How great is that?! This will be in the top of first choices for sure. I was told that the drink prices seemed to be a little high even though I was told that the mixologist mixed the drinks perfectly (so maybe that's the reason why for the higher prices...) But, I don't drink so that doesn't impact me! When the restaurant is busy it's, difficult to hear the person across the table because of the noise level. Typically, it's not that crowded but I have been there on a Friday evening and I could barely hear the person I was with.

The Pantry is a great restaurant. On a recent Friday night, we arrived at 5:30 to find the place a fourth full. By the time we departed it was 100% full and bustling. I really like this place. Nice little bar, subtle decor colors. Upon being seated we were immediately brought a small basket of sliced bread with what we believe was some kind of horseradish sauce, a flavor that will reappear in the meal. Our quick and efficient waitress took our drink orders and explained a couple items on the menu and before we knew it our beverages had arrived. My drink was perfect and just as ordered. Double Absolute Vodka with a splash of tonic. Came in a tall glass with not too much ice. There are a few mixologists left and whoever it is at The Pantry knows a light touch, when I requested a splash of tonic, a splash is just what I got. I ordered the Hungarian Goulash with a side of bratwurst. I could not decide on which to order and the waitress got me both. The goulash was delish and the potato topping was top notch. There could have been less potato and more goulash but both were top drawer! The accompanying brats were excellent as well. All items showed a great restraint where the seasoning was concerned. A light touch all around. Flavors came through not just spice. My companion ordered the pork shoulder and found it a tad on the fatty side but nevertheless seemed to enjoy it and the accompanying potato dumplings. Dessert was skipped as the above mentioned mixologist mixed cocktail was starting to kick in. The people at the next table had what we believe was the full order of Bratwurst and the pan fried chicken. Both looked delectable. Next time I will consider one or the other. The chicken especially looked tasty and appeared to have a potato crust. The Pantry is one of those restaurants that seems to invite diners to linger. I thought the atmosphere was quite good. Chic, with an elegant edge while at the same time having a comfortable, comforting quality to it. Owner Tomas Bohm has done a wonderful job and is quite the ambassador of goodwill for his establishment. He made the rounds of the restaurant and spent some time at our table and we were glad to have met him, a charming host. One might wonder why a Czech restaurant might be called The Pantry. Well I can tell you. There is something for everyone at this fantastic foodery. We shall return ASAP.

This place is a breath of fresh air for Little Rock. You can tell that the owner is from another area. The decor, bar staff, waitresses and food are fantastic. I've eaten here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
